VK Water system
VK Water Whole House System
Softening, carbon filtration and reverse osmosis (RO) drinking water in one system, professionally installed.
from $5,000 installed
System, installation & materials
- 64,000-grain water softener
- 1,500,000-gallon whole-house carbon filtration
- 75 GPD RO drinking water at the kitchen sink

What you get
Four parts, each with one clear job.
Sediment pre-filter
A large pleated filter that sees your water first. It’s designed to catch sand, grit and rust flakes before they reach the rest of the system.
Whole-house carbon filtration
Rated to 1,500,000 gallons. Carbon is designed to reduce the chlorine taste and smell in your water, at every tap, shower and appliance in the house.
Water softener
A 64,000-grain softener, which is sized for most busy households. Softening exchanges the hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) that cause scale and spots. Its digital metered control valve tracks how much water you use and recharges the softener automatically when it’s needed, rather than on a fixed timer.
Reverse osmosis drinking water
A 4-stage RO system (75 GPD) with a 3-gallon storage tank under your kitchen sink and its own faucet. It gives your drinking and cooking water one more filtering step, for water that tastes clean and fresh.
From your main line to your kitchen tap
Here’s the path your water takes once the system is in.

- Main line. Water enters your home.
- Sediment pre-filter. Grit and particles are caught first.
- Carbon filtration. Chlorine taste and smell are reduced.
- Water softener. Hardness minerals are exchanged.
- Your home. Softened, filtered water flows to every shower, sink and appliance.
At the kitchen sink, the RO system takes some of that water through four more stages and stores it in its tank, ready at its own faucet.
Good for homes dealing with…
- Hard water and scale. White crust on faucets and showerheads, spotty glasses, and soap that won’t lather.
- Chlorine taste and smell. Tap water that reminds you of a swimming pool.
- Sediment and grit. Sandy bits in aerators or discolored particles in the water.
- Drinking water that doesn’t taste right. RO at the kitchen sink for water you’ll want to drink.

Is it the right size for my home?
As a guide, the Whole House System suits homes with 4–6 bathrooms and up to 8 people.
Every home is different, so we confirm the fit when we check your water and plumbing. If your home needs something larger or more tailored, we’ll say so, and talk you through the Reserve System.
Living with your system
Every water treatment system needs some care. Here’s what to expect.
- Salt. The softener uses salt to recharge. You top up the brine tank from time to time; how often depends on your water and how much your household uses.
- Filter changes. The sediment pre-filter and the RO filters are replaced on a schedule. The carbon filtration is rated to 1,500,000 gallons.
What install day looks like
- Before the day. We confirm the plan, where the system will go, and your install date.
- On the day. We shut off your water for part of the visit, install and connect the system, set up the RO faucet, and program the control valve.
- Before we leave. We check every connection for leaks, clean up, and show you the bypass valve, where the salt goes, and which filters you’ll change.
What you’ll need: usually a drain nearby, a standard electrical outlet for the control valve, and floor space close to where water enters your home. We check all of this on our visit.

FAQ
What’s included in “from $5,000 installed”?
The system, installation and materials: the softener, carbon filtration, sediment pre-filter and RO system, plus the parts and labor to connect them in your home. Your quote lists every item.
What could raise the price?
The starting price covers a typical install. Your home’s layout and plumbing can change that, and if they do, you’ll see it in your quote before any work starts.
How often do I add salt?
It depends on how hard your water is and how much water your household uses.
How often do the filters change?
The carbon filtration is rated to 1,500,000 gallons. We’ll leave you with a simple schedule.
Will it lower my water pressure?
Any filter or softener adds a little resistance to flow. That’s why we size the system to your home and look at your plumbing before we install.
